French Speaking Practice Regularly

Speaking is vital for fluency, here are practical ways to practice

  • Find a language partner: I don’t recommend any app to use at the beginning. I always recommend books to read or podcasts to listen to. However, you can use Tandem or italki to connect with native speakers who can help you practice (paid)
  •  Join Conversation Group: Participate in local meetups or online forums where you can converse in French.

Online French Speaking Apps:

I don’t recommend apps to use in the beginning. However, you can leverage technology or apps to be motivated and improve learning experiences.

Apps like Babbel, Duolingo, and Memrise offer structured lessons that focus on speaking and listening skills. These apps also include speech recognition ability that provide instant feedback on your pronunciation.

Implement the Shadowing Technique:

If you haven’t heard about the shadowing technique method, then you should know that. This involves listening to a native speaker and repeating what they say in real time.

This technique helps improve pronunciation, rhythm and intonation. If you want to practice shadowing, then you look at these points:

  • Choose short audio clips from native speakers
  • Listen carefully and repeat immediately after them
  • Focus on mimicking their tone and pace.

French Learning Study Routine:

Establishing a regular study schedule is essential for retaining what you’ve learned. Try to aim for short, frequent study sessions rather than long, infrequent ones. Here are some tips for effective study habits.

  • Set Specific Goals: Determine what you want to achieve in each session.
  • Mix up your activities: Alternative between listening, speaking, reading and writing exercises to keep your learning dynamic.

French Learning Mistakes:
